Everything You Need to Know About the Menopause (but were too afraid to ask)

An eye-opening, no-holds-barred guide to the perimenopause and menopause written by campaigner, journalist and documentary maker Kate Muir. Everything You Need to Know About the Menopause (but were too afraid to ask) is the thinking woman's guide to the menopause, bringing you answers to all those questions that have been hidden behind a veneer of misplaced shame, bad science and centuries of patriarchy.

Davina McCall: Sex, Myths and The Menopause

The Channel 4 documentary Davina McCall: Sex, Myths and the Menopause premiered in May 2021 and changed the menopause conversation in the UK forever. McCall's forthright honesty and empathy engaged millions of viewers, and the programme busted myths and challenged the Royal College of GPs on the lack of menopause training for doctors. Kate Muir co-produced and wrote the documentary with director Linda Sands for Finestripe Productions in Glasgow. The film has already been shortlisted for three television awards, including BAFTA Scotland. In 2022, Muir made a second film with McCall: Sex, Mind and the Menopause. Muir is producing a third Channel 4 documentary with McCall, which will air in Spring 2023.

The Menopause Charity

Alongside many other menopause campaigners, Kate Muir is an activist for The Menopause Charity which was founded by menopause specialist Dr Louise Newson. The charity campaigns to raise education and awareness around the menopause, and to ensure women have a choice to access hormone replacement therapy.

The charity posters below are from a campaign written by Kate which appeared in shopping centres and motorways to raise awareness about the symptoms of menopause - and the solutions.
