Kate Muir is a novelist and journalist.

She was the Chief Film Critic of The Times, and worked as a columnist from Paris, New York and Washington for the newspaper. She has written three novels and four non-fiction books, including Everything You Need to Know About The Menopause (but were too afraid to ask) and Everything You Need to Know About The Pill (but were too afraid to ask). Her new book, out summer 2025, is How to Have a Magnificent Midlife Crisis.
